OLIVE OIL TASTING
You will be welcomed at the Terre di Zaccanello farm with a tour of the olive grove in search of the different types of cultivars present in this area of Sicily. You will learn to recognise the variety of olive trees, how to maximise their productivity and all the curiosities about the production of quality extra virgin olive oil. Subsequently, you will be taken inside Oikos, a centuries-old stone farmhouse, where the technical analyses and testing of olive oil will take place according to the principles of the Italian Oil Sommelier Foundation.
You will taste from 3 to 4 different oil, you will learn the key aspects of the organoleptic analysis conducted by the oil Sommelier and you will learn to recognise qualities and defects in extra virgin olive oil. Finally, you will learn how to correctly read a label and what the secrets for correctly storing extra virgin olive oil to preserve its quality.
After the course, you will enjoy a small tasting of local products homemade with olive oil.
